SEA Gas is committed to and will manage its business in a manner, which minimises risks to personnel and the community. SEA Gas will promote and follow OHS best practice, reflective of the company’s core safety message:
Safety First - Finish Each Day Injury Free.
SEA Gas is committed to achieving OHS best practice through:
- Eliminating or effectively managing hazards and practices in our business that could result in injury or illness.
- Ensuring employees and contractors understand their health and safety obligations.
- Considering both the short and long term safety, economic and community implications of its activities.
SEA Gas will demonstrate this commitment by:
- Developing clear lines of personnel responsibilities and authorities for managing risks through a formal, qualitative, transparent and documented process.
- The formation of an OHS committee, which meets regularly and includes representation from a senior manager who is duly authorised to make decisions on behalf of SEA Gas.
- Maintaining safe and healthy working conditions.
- Integrating Health and Safety management into the planning and operation of all SEA Gas activities. Accountability for implementing each activity will be clearly defined and the operational processes will be effectively communicated.
- Ensuring adequate resources, supported by appropriate training and equipment, are provided to personnel to enable risks to be effectively managed.
- Implementing a rigorous reporting structure that achieves timely reporting of all injuries and incidents to senior management.
- Regularly reviewing operational activities to ensure ongoing legislative compliance and to enable continuous improvement.
- Ensuring procedures for the purchase or supply of goods or services include Health and Safety considerations consistent with these management principles. SEA Gas contractors must comply with all relevant Health and Safety standards and requirements.
- Ensuring that, in the event of a work related injury or illness, the full recovery and early return to work of injured employees or contractors is encouraged and supported through prompt treatment and active rehabilitation programs.
- Ensuring that the opportunity is taken to learn from any incident, leading to improved health and safety performance.
